Adult SNOO/Floating Point

As the title implies, this piece was inspired mainly by a piece of baby accoutrement. I also continue to be intrigued by making springs out of things that aren’t normally springy and creating movement and levity in heavy pieces of steel. The lounge chair seen in the rendering below will be made of white oak slats and may have a bit more curvature than what is pictured. The hope is to be able to lay back and watch the sky while softly swaying in space.

I continue to enjoy making scale models of pieces before launching into full scale fabrication. With this work as in many others, the model influenced the final form and allowed me to work out some details I hadn’t quite been able to confirm in CAD alone.
