The Rocking Bench

This piece was simply born out of wanting to create a giant rocking chair. The two Cs were rolled by an architectural metals company but arrived at my studio on the back of a flatbed. I built a large wood armature to hold things in place while I fabricated the rest of the piece. This was modeled in Rhino/Grasshopper before any fabrication took place. The front few feet of each C is filled with lead shot to keep the center of mass in the right spot for a well functioning swing.
